Seth Talley
Seth Talley also grew up in Los Alamos, NM, where he rebelled against heavy college recruitment from prestigious East Coast Liberal Arts institutions by earning a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Washington. Seth was assistant engineer on an early album for Ben Gibbard's band Pinwheel prior to the formation of Death Cab for Cutie. He funded his education by mixing for bands such as Blues Traveller, Corrosion of Conformity, Maxi Priest, and Fishbone instead of studying.
Seth has more than five years experience designing acoustics, audiovisual reinforcement and noise mitigation for airports, stadiums, courtrooms, lecture halls and industrial plants. A strong background in science and engineering aids him in his exacting and analytical approach to creative efforts such as screenwriting and sound design. The varied projects undertaken by S2L reflect a confident understanding of the physical world, which has proven particularly valuable in the technological genre of Science Fiction.
Seth has completed five screenplays for Slave to the Light. He resides north of Seattle, WA, where he maintains The Gear Room, S2L's audio and video post-production facility. Microgravity was mixed in 5.1 Surround, requiring 15 hours of recorded sound, 3 hours of designed sound and nearly 100 audio tracks.
